Story Board first draft

Focus group

After listening to the song, and seeing the story board should i have a dance routine in my video?

My initial questionnaire showed me that dance routines in music videos are very popular, so i got together the same people i used for my earlier focus group and asked them after hearing the song and looking at the story board if a dance routine would be apropreate. All five of them said it wouldnt be apropreate as the speed of the song wouldnt match the dances and it would just look out of place.
Filming schedule. Wednesday 26th October

Jenni turns up and does her hair and make up to match what i want in the video, and puts on the appropriate clothing.

Final scenes of the Friends sitting on bed eating the cakes and scenes of the friends leaving the house and Jenni again being left alone to think about how much shes missing her ex.

6.00-6.15 Finish filming video.
Locations for filming

I have chosen to film the majoraty of the music video in my friend Emilys house, i have chosen to do this becuase i feel her bedroom is the perfect size and layout for the look im trying to achieve, she has a large roof window that lets in alot of light, this will be perfect for the beginning shots when Jenni is sitting on the bed thinking about the ex boyfriend and dismissing his phone calls. Emily also has a large double bed, this will be perfect for when Jenni friends come round and comfort her over her recent breakup. Throughout the video i will be cutting to shots of Jenni walking though woods, this shot will help show that she is very sad about this, as often when people have alot on there mind they go though walks in peaceful places. My house backs on to large woods, it has beautiful large trees and winding paths, the sun often comes though the trees and this will look lovely on screen, so i will be filming thees shots there. Towards the end of the video where Jenni friends are trying to cheer her up and help her take her mind off the boyfriend, they make cupcakes in the kitchen. I want to use my friend Emilys kitchen again as she has a nice vintage looking kitchen with a seating area, this will be perfect as there is pleanty of room for everyone to fit and i can set up some nice close up shots of the cakes. I have asked permission to use Emilys house and there is a Email from her in a earlier post showing she has agreed to this.

Digipak Plan

Digipak plan ideas

Final digipak plan

This is the inside of the digipak and this is what i want the layout to look like. I want to continue the simplistic classy look from the advert though to the digipak. Im going to use similar images and the same fonts in both, this will give a continuous style and help to create a brand for the artist. The front cover is souly taken up by a photo of the artist, i think its important to include this as in my questionnaire i found out that the most important thing to they wanted to see on the front of a digipak was a image of the artist, as what the artist looks like is just as important as what they sound like. In a large font, the same font used on the magazine advert im going to have the title of the artist. This will also become the artist logo that will be used on backdrops and other merchandise. Underneath the main title im going to have the title of the album in a thinner smaller more simple font so it doesn't take the spotlight away from the artist name. After researching some digipaks i have seen that most pop music albums are simply laid out in order to efficiently and stylishly show whos album it is. The back of the digipak is going to have the same style and colour usage as the front cover did. The track list is going to be in the middle of the page in a centered line from top to bottom. This means the tracklist is easy to see. The background and taking up the rest of the space will be a zoomed out slighly different photo to whats on the front showing a woodland setting, with the artist sitting in the corner. This means the space for the track list is trees, enabling the white font to show up well. The bar code will go in the bottom right hand corner, i don't want it to be too big otherwise it will obstruct the photo too much. The additional information like, credits, details of music label will be in a very small font at the very bottom of the picture, this means it doesn't take the simple look away from the digipak. The two inside pages are going to consist of half song lyrics and half a photo of the artist, in my questionnaire i found out that the target audience i focused on wanted to see more photos of the artist inside the digipak as they want to see what the artist is wearing and what there stance is like. This may be because they look up to them and may want to copy the artists style, the second most popular option was for the inside of the digipak to feature song lyrics, this will enable the fans of the artist to learn the words of there favorite songs. Putting thees two options together in a half and half way continues the simplistic sophisticated look that's been carried on from the magazine advert and though the whole digipak.

Magazine advert for release of digipak

Magazine Advert ideas

Final magazine advert design

This is my Magazine advert for my digipak, i wanted to keep the layout as simple as possible as i have found with my own experience that the more complicated and busy adverts are the more difficult they are to understand what its trying to show. With this simple design it ensures that you see a large photo of the artist, this will instantly catch the readers eye as they artist will be wearing nice stylish clothes with nicely done hair and make up. I chose to have the photo of the arist to take up the whole page and become the background as there is nothing else on the page that can destract the viewer from the main photo. The title of the artist is the largest of the three options, this will be in the signature artist font so there is a continuous recognizable house style to the artists name, this will help build up the brand. I wanted to keep additional information to a minimum as the viewer is likely to be flicking though a magazine quite fast, i want the key information to be easily seen. The box below the title is the release date, this is essential as people have to know when they can go out and by the digipak. From my questionnaire i found out that social media is extremely important in this day and age, this is why i have included the artists twitter address so the fans can follow there favorite artist on twitter, twitter is a good way of exposing free advertising and creating awareness of the artist. The internet is also extreamly important as there isn't many people in the world today with out a computer, so at the very bottom in a slightly smaller font i will have the website, so if people want to find out additional information about the artist they can.

Pixie Lott – Can’t Make This Over Lyrics

I only miss you when you call

So please don’t pick up the phone againIn the confusion of it all

Give me timeWhile my mind’s unravelling
I just can’t escape this feeling

But it’s taking over me

All over me
I know now I can’t try to hide it

It’s clear to me that I can’t fight it
You wanna take it back to where it was

But I can’t make this over

I can’t make this over

You want another chance to try again

But I can’t make this over

I can’t make this over

Now
Don’t say I don’t miss the way we were

I thought nothing could tear us apart

Why do you have to sabotage our love

And leave me with a broken heart?
You think, that I won’t forgive you

It’s far beyond a breakup

Kiss and make up
I know now that it’s not about you

I know that I can’t live without you
You wanna take it back to where it was

But I can’t make this over

I can’t make this over

You want another chance to try again

But I can’t make this over

I can’t make this over
And now I’ll follow my heart

And now you’re out of my lifeAnd now…
You wanna take it back to where it was

But I can’t make this overI can’t make this over

You want another chance to try again

But I can’t make this over

I can’t make this over [x2]

This fits more with what you have researched. I think your ideas fit the song well. Have a look at level 3 and 4 criteria to ensure that you can achieve this level. As you are planning on doing a simplistic narrative, which I think fits with the song, you need to be really thoughtful about your use of camera and editing.

Proposal 2

After carefully reviewing what me and miss dobbs decussed i have come to the conclution that the song isnt the write choice for me as it isnt very relevent to what i have been analysing. I have decided to change my song choice to Pixie lott- Cant make this over.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0nNI2Dhfjs&feature=related

The song is about a bad break up betweena girl and a boy and the song is about how she wants to get back with her but she cant decide what to do. She wants to get back with him but she knows the right thing to do is to move on.

For this video i will do shots of a girl thinking about what to do and showing her trying to forget about him. I will do shots of the boyfriend calling her and her her mobile and her pondering weater to answer the phone. Im thinking about shooting the video in a girls bedroom with her sitting on the bed looking at photos of her and her boyfriend. I will also have shots of her friends coming round trying to comfort her and giving her advice.

Mrs D

I like your song choice Drew, but I think you might have to have another think about how you use two females. If you are going to swap them, then there has to be a reason. You also need to go back to the lyrics and explore the meaning behind the song. It is about her identity and you could do something really interesting with it. I look forward to seeing what you plan on doing with the rest of the planning.

Pitch

With the adele song i want to have two young females in a woods setting, leaning up against trees and walking though paths singing but like there having a conforsation with eachother, with autum leaves around them to give it a naturistic natural look to it. I want the video to be simple with a stylish look to it.

Mrs D

Well done for hitting your first deadline Drew. The research is really detailed and should help you with your planning. You have some good product placement info too. Keep up the good work.
Proposal

I have decided to use the song Adele: he wont go. This song fits well as i studied adele in my focus group and i know that adele is very popular at the moment. My questionnaire showed that female pop artists are more popular than male artists. My video will be a two group female act and they will both sing the song along with a narative video.

How research will inform planning

By creating a questionnaire it gave me essential information that will help me go on to create my music video, my target audience will be ages 16-20 as the majority of the people i asked were that age. the results of my questionnaire showed me that pop music was by far the most popular music genre so it was important that i listened to this and made my music video pop. I also asked what their favorite artists were, this was very helpful as it enabled me to see what artist is the most popular among my target age group, female single artists and female girl bands came up consistently, this showed me that the most popular artists were female, because of these results i am also going to include all females in my music video, i then wanted to find out what they liked about the videos. The most popular options were, story line, and dance routine. I will defiantly be having a story line in my video because of this. The questionnaire also helped me find out what my target audience would want find most appealing on the front of a digipak and a advert in a magazine. These results were helpful as i now know what colors and what to include on the cover of the digipak and the advert. I also wanted to know how what the audience most enjoy inside a digipak, the most popular option was additional photographs of the artist, because of this i will ensure that there are extra full color photos of the artist. Theese results will all help me in making the finished products successful.
I found the doing the focus group very helpful in hearing what my target audience thought of the digipak and the music video instead of just my own opinion. I learnt that making the digipak appealing to look as is very important as i found out that most of them wouldn't bother buying a album that looked boring. This was a real eye opener and i will not let this be the case with my digipak. Analyzing the real media artifacts was very helpful as it enabled me to study music videos, adverts and digipaks in great detail and this opened my eyes to techniques ideas that i could use when creating my own version. It gave me ideas for camera angles and movements that will be valuable to me when making my own. It helped me see the individual ways pop music videos are put together with the timing and cutting from scene to scene, it has also showed me creative ways to carry a story line throughout a music video.

Product placement

Music videos are made to promote the artist and the artists new song, when a music video is made it means that it can be viewed regually by members of the public on music channels. Music channels get large amounts of views, my questionnaire showed that most people watch there music videos at home and at friends houses, this shows that its a very social event and people expect there favorite songs to have music videos. As not everyone has access to music video channels, the record lables have made music videos avalible on websites like youtube, the videos are shown though a video distribution company called Vevo, this ensures that the music videos are safely shown to the highest quality and how the record lables would want them to see, this also enables them to advertise other songs on the vevo sites therefore increasing profit as advertisers will become more interested in having adverts on there site if the viewing figures are higher, youtube was also a popular choice in my questionnaire. My questinnaire showed that the most popular music genre by far was pop, so i would want my music video to be shown on more pop based music channels like, MTV hits, starz, viva, 4music as they focus more on chart pop music unlike other channels like Q and scuzz that focus on more alternative rock style music.

The promotional advert needs to be placed in places and magazines where my target audience are likely to view it. As my genre is pop music i would like my advert to be positioned in weekly celebrity gossip magazines like Heat, OK!, Closer, Star, and national newspapers like The sun, and the daily star. As mainstream pop music is the most popular genre of music i want to feature the advert in the most popular publications in the country; However i will avoid placing the advert in papers such as the guardian as i think this would be aiming it at a completely different audience who are unlikely to listen to pop music. I would like the advert to be a full page as i think the smaller adverts with other adverts on the page aren't as effective.

The position of the digipak in the stores is essential, if its too far down or put in the wrong genre section of the shop the digipak will not be a succsess as the target market wont be able to find it as easily. Its essential that my digipak is brighly coloured and that it stands out from the rest, otherwise it will merge in with the others and wont be easily picked out. As downloading song in a MP3 format online has being extreamly popular and mainstream over the last few years i think its essential to take advantage of this, this is why i want my digipak to be available for download in online stores like Play.com, Amazon and Itunes. I want my digipak to be sold in music shops like HMV but i also want it to be more easily avalible thats why having it in easily accessible supermarkets like Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsburys. They are just as popular for purchasing digipaks as specialised music shops like HMV.

Digipak analyasis

The Saturdays digipak analyasis

This is the digipak cover for The saturdays album Headlines. As the genre of the satrdauys is pop this photo fits very well, its very colourfull and bold and really stands out. The bright blue background has the saturdays logo over the top of it in a similar contrasting colour. The saturdays logo is used on all there promotional products and other C.D's this helps create a reconisable saturdays brand. Across the centure is multi coloured chairs that the band members are sitting on, pop music is often known to be colourfull and cheesy and this really helps show that. The girls are sitting on the chairs with there outfits clearly on show, this will appeal to the bands fan base as they will be looking to see what they are wearing so they can copy them for there own style. The saturdays are style icons so having there shoes and legs obviously on show helps promote them as being a stylish band. The legs being on show will also appeal to the male fan base as it shows a sexy side to the bad aswell. The girls are holding up double paged magazines with the words of the album name across them, this is a good way of showing the name of the album without making it too obvious. The girls all have there hair nicely done in there own destinct individual style, this is what the fans will expect and makes each member of the band easy to pick out.

This is the back cover of the digipak, its reletaively plain but shows the neccacary information. The bight purple colour contrasts well with the front cover as the bight colours are continued though the album creating a hosue style of the C.D. The track list is in the same lit up font as the saturdays logo on the front cover, this makes the digipak look proffessional as the font is carried on from the front. The track list is centred, this looks better than if it was right to the side. The barcode is streched in the middle and long the bottom right underneith the track list along with the small information udnerneith. this looks neat as evetything is in line with eachother.

Inside the booklet of the digipak the colorful theme is carried though from the front. On each page there is a single colored background with a black and white photo of one of the band members, with a giant letter that there name begins with. This particular page is of molly king, a band member. The bright yellow makes the black and white image stand out well. On the opposite side there is a all black page filled with lyrics of two of there songs, fans of the band will enjoy this as they can learn the words of there favorite songs. The plainness of this page contrasts well with the colorfulness of the opposite page and makes the lyrics easy to read.

Mrs D

The research is coming along nicely Drew. Well done. You have explored the representation of your singers well. To improve your RMAs, you could explore in a little more detail as to HOW these representations are created through the use of camera. You also need to refer to the c and cs of music promos as you haven't really explored how the images/lyrics and music work together.

Digipak analyasis

Pixie Lott digipak Analyasis

This is the digipack cover for pixie lott's album, its quite simple but effective. As the album is named Pixie Lott its suitable to have a large photo of her on the cover. The front cover is light and simple with a nice photo of pixie looking up to the sky. Her iconic long blonde hair is nicely done, this will appeal to pixies fans as they will want to see her at her best if they want to copy her hair style. The logo is white and going across her chest without obstiructing her face in any way. The logo is in the pixie lott font, this is used in other branding like sigles, and tv performances, this will help to build the pixie lott brand. Pixie is positioned directly in the centre of the cover, this shows that the eye is drawn straight to her, the simple background helps with this as nothing else is there to destract the eye. Her top has a shiny rose on it, this is simple yet shows abit of her personality off at the same time. This rose may refer to the fact that her album refers to her love life and things that have happend to her in her life as roses are quite symbolic and often related to love and relationships.

The back of the cover carrys on the similar house style created by the front cover, the plain cream coloured background is the same as what was on the front. This time its a long shot instead of a close up of her face. Shes standing in a slanted stylish position. This makes her look sexy and will appeal to both males and females. Her face is lit up more than the rest of the photo this enthisises again who the album is made by and what she looks like. Her simple tight black outfit doesnt obstruct the back cover in any way. The track list is in a simple fine font to the right side of the photo, the font is easy to read and fits in with the simple look the whole pack is aiming for. There is some additional information is small white print underneith, this doesnt ruin the photo in any way as you would expect to see something like this. The barcode is at the very bottom and is reletively small and easy to find.

The inside of the digipak continues the simple feel of the front cover, The pages have different professional looking photos of pixie lott in a vintage location. These photos will help create a brand around pixie lott and show fans what her style is like. She is lent up against a rustic looking wall with her hand on her hip wearing plain black clothes, this means that all the focus is on her face and what she looks like. The opposite side of the page is a light blue colour with the lyrics over it in a plain white font. This is easy to read and goes well with the light blue at the same time.

Pop magazine advert

Ellie Goulding Magazine advert

This magazine advert was in a vareity of english magazines and news papers, its advertising her new album 'lights'. The advert is very busy and has lots of information in it, this make the album like a celebrated oscar movie. The photo of ellie is simple but very effective, shes looking up to the sky in a simple striking photo that really catches the eye. Her face is lit up nicely so it shows what she looks like, this helps with her branding as a person. The quotes from critics are in glowing gold boxes around her body this gives the impression that the album is greatly ancicipated and award winning. Across the top of the advert is ellies name, the font is the same as the rest of her C.Ds and her album covers, this helps with the branding and helps her become easily reconisable to fans. Underneith is a small paragraph that explains how her album makes you feel and what to expect from it. The rest of the page is filled up with quotes from magazine reps and journalists. This makes the poster look cramped but becuase of the striking photo and the way its layed out it still makes you want to read on.

Pop magazine advert

Gwen Stefani album magazine advert

This is a magazine advert for qwen stefanis album, this advert was put in various magazines and news papers around america. The advert is very individual with its look, There is a large serreal cartoon looking picture of qwen in a chair taking up the whole page. It looks just like her but the edges are blured, this style is also carried out though to the album cover. this creates a continious house style thoughout her branding. The piture is of her in a royal looking red chair with the crown jewles around her in the same cartoon blurred style. this suggests she wants to be seen as important, and makes the advert very eye catching. The text says 'Gwen stefani' across the middle of the advert in a qwerky style font that matches the album cover, this will help show branding of qwen as when people see that font they will know its about her. underneith there is the name of the album and additional information for where you can perchase the C.D and where its being sold. Overall the advert is simple but effective as it gets all the neccacary information across aswell as showing you what the album looks like. The colour choice isnt a colour you would expect to see on a pop album, this colour is used thoughout the advert and gives it a house style.
Lady gaga- Just Dance

This video is a pop video by lady gaga, the video is the classic house party with dance routines. The video shoes her ariving at a house party and walking in, Lady gaga has a very famous individual style that all her fans will look for in her video, she shows this style in her video aswell, this will help with the branding of the artist. There are close up shots of her face that show her iconic make up and lightning bolt across her eye, this makes her easily reconisable as lady gaga. There are long shots of her spead across a sofa, using a long shot enables the viewer to see her bold outfit choice. This will appeal to lady gagas fans as they may want to try and copy her style. Using a long shot is also effective as it means you can see the seting of a house party. there are high shots of the lounge area, its all messy with glasses and people lying everywhere, this fits in with the theme of a house party. The video is timed well so it can cut to shots of people at the party and then back to shots of lady gaga singing. In the video they use shots so the camera is bobbing up and down with the people at the party, this helps create the atmosfere of the party. In the video they have dimmed lighting with a circular light moving round the wall this helps create the idea of madness and fun. Towards the end of the video the guests at the party gather together and have a dance off, this is what often happends in music videos and enables the fans to copy the dances moves in the video if they want. Close up shots are used when everyone is climbing over eachother and dancing, this makes it look like theres loads of people there and like there all crammed in, this again helps create the feel of a mad house party.
The Saturdays- All fired up

I am analysing this video as kerris suggested it would be a good idea as it fits with the style i have already used and its a classic pop video. This video is a classic girl band pop video, the setting is a dark room with block lights, the girls outfits are also matching black. There is a long shot at the begining that sets the scene of the video, the shots fade in and out of shots of rippled water. As the video has a dance tune to it the video is quite fast moving with dancemoves and flashing lights. The water on the ground adds a good effect and looks good under the light. There a mid long shots and long shots of the girls all doing syncoronised dancing along to the beat of the music, this will appeal to some of the fans as they can copy the dance moves in the music video. The saturdays would be conciderd style icons, so there is close up shots of the shiny black lycra that they are wearing in some shots. The clothes the girls are wearing fits into the idea that boys want to be with them and girls want to be them, this will increase there fanbase and help with C.D sales. eo cuts from the girls dancing on there own and close up shots of there faces, the lip singing continues perfectly between them both without any mistakes, this gives the music video a smooth look to it. Having shots of the band members on there own helps the saturdays build there brand, they all have diffrent hair styles and colours and this will make them easily reconisable in the future. There are tracking shots back and forth of the band dancing in sync with the music and eachother this fits into the fast moving dance style of the video. Towards the end of the video it shows the girls in all over black suits dancing in the pools of water, this is very effective as the lights show the water spashing everywhere and gives it a fun stylish night club feel.
Pixie lott- All About tonight

This is a classic pop video by pixie lott, The idea of the video is of her looking foward all week to the weekend and its finally here and shes going out with all her friends to have a good time. This will appeal to female fans as they can relate to looking foward to the weekend all week and then going out with all there girl friends. The video has a mid long shot of pixie walking down a street doing a dance as shes walking suggesting shes on her way out. The dance routine makes the video look like a classic pop video with the dances that go along with the music. Thoughout the video there are birds eye view shots of london at night super imposed over the top of pixies legs as shes walking down the street, this shows that shes going out on the town. Pixie lott is a style icon and her fans would expect to have close up shots of her face and legs to show off her clothing and shoes that shes wearing, theres a extream close up of pixies face, this shows her bright lipstick and her hair done up niceley, this goes along with the theme of getting ready to go out and have fun. There are long shots of pixie and her friends dancing in the street, this allows you to see the cityscape setting and what they are all wearing, many girls would want to try and copy her style so having theese shots enables them to get a full view. The timing of this video is good as the dancemoves are perfectly timed into the beat of the music this make the video look professional and neat. The shots cut perfectly from the dancing to a close up shot of her singing the words. Using close ups will help create a motif style of pixie lott that is easily reconisable, pixie always has bright lipstick on in her music vidoes, so showing it in this video will help continue this look and help build the brand.
Katy Perry- E.T ft. Kanye West

This is a pop music video by Katy perry, this video has a large range of special effects and shots. The video follows katy (a alien) floating around space in extravagant outfits and finally landing on a planet and descovering another alien and leaving the plant with it. As the song is called E.T the video is very suitable to this as the katy in the video is a alien. There are long shots used when she is floating in space this shows off the space like surrounding more, the long shot also means you can see katy floating in the sky with her large floaty dress and headpeice in full view, this adds to the querky surreal look of the video. There are mid close ups on her face when she is floating, this shows her over the top alien like make up and prospetics she has on her head and face, this is in keeping with the Extra Terrestrial theme the video is aiming to use. Katy perry is known for being a artist that pushes the boundrys and comes up with outfits and videos that we havnt seen before, her individual style is loved by her fans and a music video as over the top as this will really apeal to the fan base. As she lands on the planet the surface of the planet is made up of old metal and car peices, this set is very effective and looks amazing on screen. A over the sholder shot is used when shes looking down at the strange alien she has just descoverd on the planet this helps create atmosfere and a tense build up to descovering what it actually is. Intense special effects are then used to create a magical explotion around katy as the alien turns into a human shape. There are beams of light and colour with a space theme all around her, this is in keeping with the out of space alien theme. Katy also has alien like Nails on her hands, this makes her look more like a alien along with her patchy facepaint and strangly shaped hair. A long shot is then used to show katy and the alien holding hands on the derelict scrap yard like planet with a beam of light shining down on them. this is a good way to end the video as it shows the two aliens leaving the planet together.

M- 'The music is good but the album art lets it down, if i didnt know the songs on the album i wouldnt bother buying it'

Focus Group Questionaire summary

In summary i descovered that although the music compays have a very large budget to work with and would have done extensive research into how the C.D looks, they dont always get it right. My results show that most thought that the album photo let the album down. They said if they didnt know how good her songs were and if they didnt know about her as a person they wouldnt perchase the album as it isnt eye catching or exciting in any way. Alghouth the genre of the music is quite sinister and classical they thought the photo on the front could have been better, more revealing of what to expect in the album. My results also tell me that people dont just buy a album becuase of the photo on the cover, as its not the most important thing. I will bear all this information in mind when im creating my album cover as i want the album cover to be exciting aswell as reflecting the personality of the artist. I want my cover to appeal to people who dont know about the songs that are on there and also to people who are already fans of the music.

Now you need to do a bit more of a focused look at music channels- when looking at the channels which ones doe they view; this will give you an idea of product placement. Also, check the brief. It is NOT a poster but a magazine advert so do some research on magazines for pop music.

Questionnaire Analysis

Questionnaire Analysis

i Asked 30 people in my questionaire all together, they are form a variety of age groups, but mostly teenages as i will be aiming the video to appeal to that age group.

1)

i wanted to find out how many people watched music videos, and unsuprisingly no one i asked doesnt watch music videos. Music videos seem to be very mainstream and a important part of peoples lives. I got the impression there isnt very many people that dont regularly watch miusic videos.

2)

I asked this question as i wanted to find out what the most popular genre of music is and i would then base my project on that genre. Pop was the most popular by far, i think this is becuase the big four often focus more 0n releasing pop music and aim to get them into the charts. I also think that pop is the most played genre of music on radio, music channels.

3)

I then asked what peoples favorite pop music video was, i would use this data and watch all the music vdieos that were put down to give my music video inspitration and get a idea on what people will expect to see in my video. The most popular music video was Justin Beiber: one time. I was expecting there to be more videos chosen but people seemed to agree on the same music videos more than once in most cases.

4)

I then asked why they chose the music video they did, i gave them four potential options they could chose and i also put a other box for any other suggestions. No one put any other options for why they chose the video. The most popular option was the 'good dance routines' option, this was expected as most pop videos have dance routines in them, i think they do this so fans of the artist can learn the dances and show them to their friends. i will attempt to implement theese results into my music video as much as i can.

5)

I then wanted to know where people watched there music videos. Once i knew theese results i could asses what the videos mean to people and how they chose to enjoy them, i would use this to help me in creating my music video. Most people said they watch there music videos at home, but also a large percentage of people said they watch music videos at there friends houses. This shows that watching music videos is a enjoyable social experience.

6)

I asked what there favorite pop artist was, i would use theese results to gather ideas of what those artists are doing with there posters and digipacks and implement some of those ideas into mine. The most popular artist was beyonce, and close behind chirs brown. The results were quite even and there was no perticular artist that took over. Most of the artists chosen have been in the charts in the last 6 months. this shows how much impact the big 4 have on the audeince and what arists they like.

7)

I then asked what people prefer music videos to be like, this would give me an idea of what to do im my music video. The most popular was the performance option. This would mean they would expect the artists to be in the shot most of the time singing there song, at a venue or a interesting location. The 'tells a story' option was also very popular so i will try and implement a mood and story into the song that helps people relate to the artist.

8)

I then wanted to know how the audeince acess the music videos and where the video would be viewed. The most popular option by far was the 'music video channels' option. This is obvious now how the music videos are acessed so i think its important that they are very apealing to the eye so they look good on large tv screens.

9)

I now want to find out what colours the audeince would expect to see on a digi pack. This is important as if the colours arent correct the digipack wont be as appealing. The most popular option was the multi coloured option, this is good as pop music is often refered to as being colourfull and up beat, so i will definatly be implementing this into my own digi pack. The second most popular was the bright colours option, this tells me that above all the audeince would most like to see a bright multi coloured style thoughout the digipack.

10)

I want to know what the audeince would most want to find inside a digipack and what would most encourage them to perchase the C.D. The most popular option was the additional photographs option. This means i will have lots of good looking colourfull photographs of the arists thoughout as the audeince want this. As the consumer often likes to copy what the artist is wearing this will be appealing as they can see other photos of there idol instead of just one on the front of the pack.

11)

I want to know what people want to see on the front of a pop advertising poster. This inofrmation will help me when it comes to creating my own. The most popular option is the large photos of artists. It is clear to be thoughout the questionaire that photos of the artist is very important as they want to be able to put a face to the artist they are listening too. Good props and setting also has a high number of selections, i will therefore try to take the photos for the poster in a good looking location with eye catching props.

12)

Its important that i ask what colours the audeince would want to see on the front of a pop poster. Over 90% of people chose the 'Bright colours' option this is very obvious that my poster must include bright bold colours that really stand out. The only other option chosen was the multi coloured option. The other options like 'black and white' and 'sophisticated colours' options didnt get any selections this shows that the audeince would not want or expect to see this on the front of a pop music poster.

13)

I want to know what the audeince would want to see on the front of the poster. The most popular option was to include the artists Facebook adress and the twitter option was almost as popular. This shows that social media is very important to the consumers and will really impact the artists image and popularity if they dont have any of them. There website and release dates are also important as they want to know when they can see there favorite artists in concert. The website is very important for the artists advertising as the internet is very popular and if they can draw more people to visit the website this should increase awearness of the artist and therefore increase C.D sales.

14)

In reply to miss dolbys comment i did a extra question to find out what music channels my target audence watch. I gave them 5 options and a other option, the other option was left blank. The most popular was MTVhits, this is understandable as it shows top of the chart music all day, the majoraty of the music it shows is pop. 4music was also quite popular as 4music is avalible to everyone as it is shown on freeview instead of a payment service like sky. These results tell me what i would most like my music video to be shown on MTVhits as its the most popular option.

This is a good draft. Try to provide an 'other' box at times so that you can get a few more details from your audience. Keep up the good work.
